For 160 years, our team has played an important role in connecting people and communities across the state. We are now seeking talented and dedicated individuals to join our team as Trainee Network Control Officers within our Rail Management Centre (located in Bowen Hills, Brisbane).

Working in the control room of our Rail Management Centre in Bowen Hills, you will learn to control and coordinate the rail network within the Southeast Queensland region.

You will play a key role in connecting communities and providing a world class rail services for our customers. This opportunity provides a specific training pathway to become a qualified Network Control Officer with Queensland Rail.

Training Program overview journey commencement of 28th July 2025. A comprehensive 18-week training program, blending classroom instructions with simulated-learning, followed by practical on-the-job training.

This intensive program requires dedication and focus during the initial period, therefore planned leave is not available during this time (excluding gazetted public holidays). We understand the importance of work-life balance and will support you throughout your training journey.

The opportunity to build a rewarding career with the successful completion of your 12-month training period and all training assessments to secure a permanent role with exciting career progression opportunities. Once qualified, the availability to commit to working within a roster comprising of 8-hour shifts on a 24/7 basis, is imperative.
