Ministerial, Monitoring, and Capability Group Regulation and Policy type Permanent, Hours Full time, Location Taupō, Business Group Ministerial Monitoring and Capability, Branch Regulation and Policy, Salary $51,641 - $60,482.
This is a hands-on role with lots of variety, the purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with the Navigational Safety Officers to ensure Maritime safety on Lake Taupō and maintenance of Crown-owned boating facilities and various reserves and public places in the Lake Taupō area.
The Taupō Harbourmaster office is offering the right candidate an opportunity to be trained whilst they work as a general hand, to the qualified level of a Navigational Safety Officer. On the successful completion of the training, the candidate will be considered for a full-time role as a Navigational Safety Officer. The Harbourmaster Office is a 24/7 operation and has significant interaction with the community. This role engages daily with the community, providing advice, information, and public confidence in the work we do.
In this role you will be required to support Navigational Safety Officers to ensure crown owned boating facilities at Lake Taupō that are well maintained and provided for safe use by the public. Support Navigational Safety Officers to ensure facilities are fit for purpose; Navigational concerns are responded to in a timely manner. Complete assigned internal and external training courses.
What will you bring specifically to be successful in this role demonstrated some practical experience. Excellent interpersonal skills, Positive attitude, Enthusiasm to learn, Unrestricted drivers' license. Work some weekends and public holidays. Current Workplace First Aid qualification.
