About Train Crewing Train Crewing is one of six divisions within the Train Crewing and Support Directorate. We manage and oversee day to day train operations, service delivery and resourcing of Drivers and Guards. Our tight-knit team relies on trust, respect and support for each other, so we can deliver the best experience for our customers.

The Opportunity Sydney Trains is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and safety focused people to join our team as Trainee Train Guards. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team that serves over 1.3 million customers per day, keeping Sydney connected with work, school, vital services and loved ones. As a Train Guard, you’ll be making a valued contribution to your community while getting hands on with innovative ways of working and cutting edge technologies.

Training Program successful applicants will undertake an intensive 6 month training program where you will develop the broad range of skills required of a Train Guard. This will be a combination of classroom and on-the-job training. There is a lot to learn so we are looking for bright sparks who will soak up large amounts of information like safety procedures, network maps and contingency plans and apply them under high pressure conditions. Please be aware that our training program runs to a tight schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
