About the company my client is a small but rapidly growing company that specializes in formulated dairy products and dietary supplements for adult nutrition and family health. With established markets in Southeast Asia, they are developing unique formulations their food lab and partnering with contract manufacturers for production.
Key to their operations is a combination of new product innovation and maintaining excellent relationships with our supply chain and ingredient suppliers.
Role overview the Technical Projects Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the business growth by working closely with the Chief Scientist, who also serves as the Technical Marketing Manager, and the Operations Manager. This individual will manage production planning, export logistics, and supplier relationships, as well as take a leading role in developing a new skincare line for 2025, stepping into a Technical Projects Manager role.
Key responsibilities operational and Technical Support. Assist in production planning, ensuring raw materials are correctly forecasted and available for manufacturing. Manage supplier and contract manufacturer relationships to ensure seamless production and supply chain management.
Assist formulation chemists in developing formulations and making lab samples. Conduct market research on overseas ingredient regulations and market requirements. Validation and compliance activities. Maintain regular communication with customer markets in Southeast Asia to assist with forecasting and developing market trends. Occasionally work on production tasks when needed.
You, the candidate ideally, you will come from the dairy or skin care industry, with experience working in a small company, and in product development. However, this is a highly caried role so other experience and transferable skills are valuable.
Key requirements a degree in Chemistry or Biology. Experience in dairy, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, or cosmetics highly advantageous. Understanding of new product development, ideally with experience in this. Happy to work onsite in Hamilton (some flexibility).
Strong attention to detail combined with creativity and innovation. Warm, friendly, and proactive attitude with the ability to work in diverse environments (lab, factory, boardroom). Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong numerical skills (for budget management and interpreting market data).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with teams. A “hands-on” approach, not afraid to get involved in production tasks when necessary. Organisational skills with a well-planned, tidy working style. Must already be living in New Zealand and hold citizenship or permanent residency.
