About EPL Education Payroll Limited (EPL) is a core part of Aotearoa New Zealand’s education sector, delivering an accurate, timely and secure payroll for the people at the heart of our education system - teachers and support staff.

About the role the Team Leader Specialised Services is responsible for leading a team of specialist advisors who handle debt management (overpayments), tax, superannuation, and statements of service. You’ll be supported by the Head of Service Delivery and a wider network of experienced Team Leaders who along with their teams, work to ensure the pay is delivered for around 96,000 teachers and support staff every fortnight.

In addition to supporting the high performance of your team, you’ll be responsible for key strategic relationships with third party entities such as unions. You’ll focus on creating deeper and more effective relationships, and bring fresh thinking and a continuous improvement mindset to the team. The starting salary for the role will be between $70,000 - $89,000 per annum, plus up to 4% employer Kiwisaver contributions, and our additional leave benefits.

About you to be successful in this position you will bring 2-3 years’ experience leading a team and managing a busy work programme, preferably within a payroll environment. Strong relationship building skills and the ability to influence. Strong communication skills.

Demonstrated emphasis on continuous improvement in your work, including the ability to think innovatively. Demonstrated record of successful delivery in HR/Payroll related services. Experienced with interpreting collective employment agreements. Strong understanding of HRI systems or payroll systems.

Understanding of current relevant employment and tax legislation. Preferably experience in one or more of the specialised disciplines within the Specialised Services Team (i.e., debt management/overpayments, tax, superannuation, or statements of service).
