Who we’re looking for you’re a leader with demonstrated experience in managing a team of engineers. You know what makes engineers tick, how best to keep them engaged, and how to support their growth.
With an engineering background you take your team’s workmanship seriously. While you might not always be hands-on you’ll know what quality looks like and can ensure development standards are adhered to.
You also have a history of getting stuff done; clearing roadblocks and ensuring you have a backlog of work ready to go. You use metrics to understand what’s working and can engage widely across the business when things aren’t going to plan.
How you’ll work leading a team of software developers and testers you’ll be ensuring they have everything they need to deliver quality software. This means agile practices are followed, a backlog of work is ready to go, metrics are surfaced, and work continues to be delivered on an appropriate cadence.
Supported by our People group you will be establishing development plans for your team members, managing performance issues, and recruiting team members. You’ll be working closely with a Lead Developer to ensure the team’s work has the right technical solution and development standards continue to be followed. You might not be doing a lot of development but you’ll have the technical know-how to be able to guide your team members towards making the right technical decisions.
