Teacher Aide or Learning Assistant Balmoral School location Auckland. $26 – $29 per hour.

Teacher aide / Learning Assistant x2, Fixed-term until Dec 20, 2024, You will be providing learning support for ākonga aged 5 -12 years. Both small group and individual student support in our flexible learning environments.

You will be part of an inclusive, friendly and collaborative team who participate in targeted professional development to enable our tamariki to grow and flourish.

Our children are well supported by school and Learning Support professionals and careful guidance (eg RTLB, Psychologist, Physio, Speech & Language) We have 1-2 fixed term positions, term time only. Hours can be negotiated ranging from 10 - 18 hours. Preference will be given to applicants who can work on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Teacher Aide Key Experiences and skills experience working with students. Knowledge of and experience working with students to support learning and/or health needs OR willingness to learn and participate in professional development. Ability to build strong rapport with ākonga, teachers, whānau and professionals (e.g MOE Ed Psych or RTLB).

Display integrity, professionalism and initiative. Able to keep confidentiality. Display understanding, empathy and patience. Enthusiastic, open-minded and able to positively motivate children. Practical, organised and flexible. Reasonably fit and active.

Able to work well in a team. Open to learning more to support diverse learning needs. Able to listen to and work with professionals then apply strategies.
