About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Systems Technician to join our JORN (Jindalee Operational Radar Network) Line of Business based at SA-RAAF Edinburgh.
Join the team at the forefront of Australia’s national defence. As a Systems Technician reporting to the Battlespace Surveillance Centre (BSC) Maintenance Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring the operational readiness of advanced ICT and engineering systems, including the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN).
This hands-on role involves working across a rotating day/evening shift pattern and calls for a driven technician with a broad scope of ICT and technical experience.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide front-line support for ICT and technical systems used in surveillance operations
Perform basic system administration tasks on Red Hat Linux platforms
Troubleshoot faults and liaise with customers, engineers, and field technicians
Document maintenance activities and system faults in line with engineering protocols
Support engineering upgrades, investigations, and system health monitoring
Maintain knowledge of proprietary systems used in Defence surveillance
About YOU
Certificate IV or higher in Electronics, Telecommunications, or IT – or equivalent hands-on experience
Proven expertise in one or more of the following: Radar, RF systems, Telecommunications, ICT or Systems Administration
Practical experience with Red Hat Linux and network troubleshooting (switching & routing)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
Strong customer service focus and fault resolution skills
Must hold an active NV1 security clearance and be eligible for an NV2
Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
