Established in 1994, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation (NGO) that provides breast cancer education and awareness, medical research, training grants, advocacy and supports Kiwis with breast cancer.

Our vision is zero deaths from breast cancer. Currently, over 3,500 Kiwis are diagnosed with breast cancer and over 650 die from breast cancer every year. BCFNZ’s programmes are evidence-based and overseen by its medical advisory committee.

Purpose of the role to build the loyalty and engagement of BCFNZ donors by providing excellent supporter care. This role is the first point of contact for most donors and will deliver an exceptional experience to help deliver long-term income and engagement.

The Supporter Care Coordinator is a part-time (20 hours per week) important and administrative role centred on caring for BCFNZ supporters.

Key responsibilities donor care. Give donors a strong connection to our cause through effective and timely recognition of their donation. Helping with all enquiries, reassuring concerns, and ensuring supporters feel valued and a key part of our work.

Database administration, ensuring exceptionally accurate tracking of supporter and donor information and corresponding payments and points of communication. Developing new and creative methods to thank donors. Individual giving support.

Support the Individual Giving Manager with direct mail appeals, newsletters, and campaigns. Support for the regular giving programme - sending welcome packs, talking to donors,  following up on incomplete data, and annual receipting.

Retention and arrears calling for the RG programme to implement a save strategy for cancelling donors and following up on arrears. Support for the gifts in wills  programme – sending welcome packs, planning events, and general recognition. Support and contribute to donor engagement activities.

Warm and empathetic communication with a variety of people through the phone, email, and post. General admin and office support as required – including from time to time: answering phones, ordering office supplies, and volunteer coordination.

Customer experience to be a supporter champion, playing a key role in delivering value and outstanding experience for supporters. Donor communication and correspondence through both verbal and written means, create genuine and non-transactional donation experiences.

Knowledge, skills and experience excellent customer/supporter service skills with experience working in a customer-facing environment. Experience using a customer/supporter database. Ability to remain calm when under pressure and/or dealing with concerns and difficult interactions.

Fluent in English, with strong communication skills (written and verbal), and an excellent phone manner. Good working knowledge of MS Office. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload. Attention to detail. Enthusiastic, positive and a great team player.
