About us the Supported Life Style Hauraki Trust takes a unique approach to providing support services for people with disabilities in our community. As part of the team here, you’ll be helping to achieve our mission to support Life Stylers to live their best possible lives.
We work hard to be the chosen disability service by providing a collective foundation that promotes a sense of belonging, support and trust to each Life Styler. This means they can be as independent as possible in all aspects of life. To do this, we ensure the Life Styler’s needs are met physically, psychologically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and culturally.
About role number one an amazing opportunity to work in a rural setting with a gentleman that loves the farm life and enjoys socialising with support from his staff. Rostered shifts 4 days on and 4 days off, this includes working weekends and public holidays when rostered on an 8am to 6pm shift.
The position is about supporting this gentleman to take part in activities that he enjoys which includes, woodwork, swimming and helping on the farm. He has a love of cows and animals and lives in a setting on the Trust farm. You will also be providing support for cooking and house hold tasks.
Confidence, maturity, using your initiative as well as having a calm approach to follow the strategies in the Positive Behaviour Support Plan is needed. About role number two a wonderful person with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is looking for a new support worker. Rostered shifts 4 days on and 4 days off, this includes working weekends and public holidays when rostered on an 8am to 6pm shift.
You will make a real difference in her life by supporting her to some of her favourite activities. She loves to sing, attend art, play cards and go out for coffee to name a few. You will also be providing support for cooking and household tasks.
Confidence and a strong commitment to providing a person-centred approach is required as is the need to be reliable and have a positive attitude. If you are a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a difference we encourage you to apply. Experience with TBI would be beneficial, however full training will be provided. You will earn between $23.38 - $29.10 per hour, depending on experience and qualification.
About you attitude - a desire to help and support others, achieving excellence in all you do. Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is desirable, although not essential. Excellent communication skills. Healthcare qualifications are advantageous. Have a full NZ driver's licence.
You must possess the right to work in New Zealand and a willingness to undergo police vetting and additional checks in order to be considered for this position.
