The role as Senior Support Engineer you will be responsible for providing fault resolution, escalation and maintenance services to our customers. Supporting them both onsite and remotely, you will install and maintain computer hardware, software and networks. Using your uncanny ability to develop relationships across all levels of an organisation, you'll provide support to clients across a wide range of platforms and technologies.
The role is based in Melbourme, with some travel required within the region, you may need to use your own car from time to time. Most job ads won’t tell you the full story but like the culture we are building every day we are a little bit different. Not every day is full of sunshine and unicorns sliding down rainbows. We are a lean and mean local team so you'll be working at full utilisation most of the time, but you'll have a new challenge every day and will be a part of a national team of 100+ engineers.
Previous experience in an MSP environment and vendor certifications (Cisco, VMWare or Microsoft) will be highly regarded. We will absolutely value your skill set but nobody is immune from mundane level 1 tasks, we all pitch in.
What you'll do provide exceptional customer service. Fault escalation and resolution. Own the outcome. Deliver and document customer projects. Configure, deploy and administer LAN, WAN, security and remote access technologies. Support customers with a wide variety of platforms and technologies. Build and configure desktops, servers and storage networking hardware.
To be successful in this role you will need practical experience with Microsoft Desktop and Server (Windows 10, Server 2008-2016, Active Directory, Exchange etc). Experience implementing and troubleshooting virtualisation technology (VMWare or Hyper-V). Experience in typical SMB networking technology (LAN Switching, Wi-Fi, Routing and Edge Firewall) – demonstrated capability with Cisco equipment will be advantageous. System storage infrastructure exposure, iSCSI, Fibre & SAS SAN products. Knowledge of cloud technologies, Office 365 experience will be highly regarded.
