Student Support Officer Brisbane Grammar School location Brisbane.
The role the Student Support Officer works proactively, professionally, responsibly and collaboratively as a member of the School’s staff, supporting the Head of Academic Services and teachers to enhance the learning outcomes for all students.
The Student Support Officer assists teachers to provide adjustments for identified students in the areas of planning/resources, health management/personal care, safety, curriculum access, access to the learning environment, assessment (including acting as a reader/scribe).
Other duties as directed by the Head of Academic Services (including but not limited to) administrative duties, delivering targeted, structured interventions.
About you knowledge and skills an understanding and appreciation of individuals with disabilities and a preparedness to support students in their learning. Demonstrated experience working in a similar role in a school environment. Qualifications and training in the inclusive education sector, or capacity and willingness to engage in relevant professional learning.
Understanding of and commitment to the ethos of independent schooling. Commitment to implementing a safe working environment and modelling safe practices. Personal and professional qualities. Ability to work in a team and maintain a positive and professional approach to students, colleagues and all other members of the BGS community. Workers in education settings, including schools will need to have received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by 17 December 2021, and the second dose by 11.59pm on 23 January 2022.
