Student Support Officer Acknowledge Education location Sydney.
Acknowledge Education provides quality education to international and domestic students through a range of Vocational, Bachelor, ELICOS and VCE courses. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Student Support Officer to join our team of friendly staff. This role is critical in providing friendly, informative, and quality service to our Bachelor and VET students as well as supporting the overall delivery and management of our programs.
Responsibilities operate as the first point of call for Health and Community Services students. Develop learning strategies to support students, resolve student issues, and escalate to the relevant staff as appropriate. Monitor and record student attendance, results, and course progress on the relevant databases. Identify at risk students, issue warning letters where required, and refer students to the appropriate staff for intervention. Organise, maintain and monitor Moodle classes and resources for students and educators.
Organise and facilitate orientation for new students. Issue official documentation to students, including term break letters, statement of attainment, and letter of enrolment. Assist in term timetabling, classroom allocation and management, and organising teaching and learning resources. Liaise with other student support officers at our Perth and Sydney campuses. Participate in the overall continuous improvement of the department, including the evaluation of policies and procedures.
Selection criteria demonstrated ability to problem-solve, streamline procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement. Capacity to complete competing tasks within specified timelines and with minimal supervision. Effective communication skills and ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels, including staff, educators, and external organisations.
Experience in supporting international and multicultural students, with an understanding of the personal and academic challenges relevant to this student cohort. Solid data-entry skills and experience in using databases and online learning platforms. Knowledge of Moodle and RTOManager is ideal. Strong organisational, planning, and administrative skills with attention to detail An understanding of VET and Higher Education will be highly regarded.
