Student Support and Admin Officer West Melbourne Institute Of Technology Pty Ltd location Melbourne. $50,000 – $60,000 per year.

West Melbourne Institute of Technology (WMIT) is a registered training organisation in South Melbourne that delivers qualifications to overseas students. WMIT is currently seeking a student support and administration officer to support the ongoing growth and success of our organisation. The successful applicant must have the ability to effectively communicate with adult learners from a non-English background.

General duties will involve office management and front desk student advisory (for all types of inquiries). Student support and services. Ad-hoc administration and admissions tasks. Marketing assistance. Student event management. Data entry and enrolment management through an online Student Management System. Travel locally and internationally for marketing and admin purposes when required.

Key responsibilities provide outstanding student services support to WMIT Students. Manage orientation and enrolment and assist in graduation documents. Check student file contents for enrolment: Enrolment Form, Contact Details, Letter of Offer, Direct Debit form etc. Maintain data entry records of WMIT programs. Data entry and update of student’s profiles and details in Student Management System.

Manage issuance of qualifications to WMIT graduates. Monitor and communicate with students with outstanding fees. Prepare student status update reports and maintain master spreadsheets. Liaise with staff to ensure efficient management of student enquiries and deadlines are met. Accurately record all student-related inward and outward correspondence including email and internal correspondence.

Desirable skills relevant working experience with noted experiences in the education sector that demonstrates the administration roles of an RTO or Higher Education provider. Experience and understanding of the VET Sector. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Strong management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Student Management System (PowerPro RTO preferred but not essential) and Moodle LMS.

Demonstrate professionalism by maintaining composure during peak periods. Strong knowledge of the international education landscape. Experience with local and international students from a broad range of backgrounds and nationalities. Attention to details. The ability to speak another language is highly regarded. Available for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
