Your role this position reports to the Manager, Student Conduct & Wellbeing, and is responsible for providing support and guidance to students wishing to raise a complaint or grievance in accordance with University procedures, and managing processes to resolve formal grievances.

Key responsibilities be the national first point of contact for students wishing to raise a grievance, including providing information that will assist the student to make informed decisions about how best to address their grievance, including discussing possible strategies to deal directly with the issue if appropriate.

Provide advice and information to students on resolution processes in accordance with the Student Grievance procedure, and determine and advise if matters are otherwise covered under the General Regulations of the University.

Manage the administrative aspects of the formal grievance process, including preparation of relevant correspondence, referral to the relevant office in accordance with University Policy, and liaison as required during the resolution process.

Refer students to counselling and other support services as required report on the nature and number of grievances received, as and when required. Comply with all other reasonable training and duties as identified by the line manager (or delegate). Comply with University policies and procedures in all aspects of their work and conduct.

About you we are seeking an experienced Grievance Officer to support the wellbeing of our students, as well as a relevant degree, or a combination of relevant experience and/or education/ training. Ability to work effectively within a team and under routine/general supervision in order to effectively achieve objectives and perform tasks that requires interaction with other related areas.

Demonstrated ability to apply high level interpersonal, customer service and communication skills (both oral and written), including an ability to engage and resolve differences with colleagues and customers.

Effective time management and organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, solve problems, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks whilst working as a member of a team to achieve common goals.

Demonstrated ability to display judgement, reliability and conscientiously adapt to changed work flows in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to act with sensitivity and adhere to a high level of confidentiality.
