Student Experience Officer University of Canberra College location Sydney.
About the role the University of Canberra College is seeking a candidate with experience in providing high quality customer service and administration, preferably within an educational setting. The Student Experience Officer sits within the Student and Academic Services team, which is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of student and academic services throughout all areas of the college. This position will be responsible for holistic student support services including front-of-house enquiries, individual student support, and student and academic related administrative tasks and data entry. The Student Experience Officer is key to cultivating a supportive, welcoming, and comfortable experience for our students.
The person we seek will ideally have the following well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills with a proven ability to provide a high standard of customer service in a busy environment. A demonstrated history of communicating with a wide range of people from culturally diverse backgrounds. Ability to organise and prioritise multiple issues and tasks in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to plan, develop, facilitate, and evaluate processes and events. Understanding of academic expectations and the difficulties faced by students undertaking tertiary studies, including the unique challenges faced by international students. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel. Willingness to learn a variety of administrative applications. Consistent attention to detail. Culturally sensitive, and a patient approach to student and customer needs. Working with Vulnerable People card or the ability to obtain one. Demonstrated ability to working both within a team and independently.
Desirable but not essential a diploma or higher (or, in lieu, at least three years' professional experience) relating to administration, education, or international relations. Exposure to the academic needs and requirements of international students. Involvement or training in the area of mental health and wellbeing. Event planning. Experience in a multicultural environment.
