Student and Academic Administration Officer The University of Queensland location Brisbane. $74378.89 - $82842.92 p.a. + super of up to 17%.

About This opportunity we are looking for an organised person to provide effective and efficient client focused administrative services to students, staff and co-workers in support of the teaching and learning activities of the school.

Key responsibilities will include student and Academic Administration Primary Focus. Monitor and respond to incoming School enquiries to ensure all enquiries are satisfactorily answered within set targets. Provide accurate and timely advice to current and prospective students relating to their study. Assist with the administration of School Misconduct matters in accordance with University rules, policies, procedures and relevant legislation. Assist with the administration of the School's casual academic activities with ongoing monitoring of expenses against budget. Administration of the School's participation in the UQ Winter and Summer Research Program.

Assist other Coursework Studies Team members as required with arranging academic advising appointments. Processing of extension request forms. Organisation of events including Orientation Week activities and student cohort activities. Setting up courses each semester. Preparation of examination papers and other activities associated with examinations. Administration of the Schools examination process including exam script viewing. Administer the upload of finalised grades and grade amendments. Administration of the School's thesis project courses

General act as secretary to School Committees and other student and staff meetings, including preparation of agendas and minutes, draft reports and submissions and take other action as required on behalf of the Chair. Maintain School records, procedures and other internal databases. Provide temporary coverage of the duties of other staff in the event of their absence. Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor. This role is subject to The University's Code of Conduct.

Note: leave restrictions - leave will not normally be approved from the end of January until the 3rd week of semester 1, from 2 weeks prior to semester 2 until the 3rd week of semester 2, during the week following the final exam period in Semesters 1 and 2.

About you essential experience working in an area of student or academic administration in a university or other educational provider would be highly regarded. An undergraduate degree in a relevant area or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training with a commitment to and enthusiasm for the provision of excellent client service.

Sound knowledge and understanding of the administrative processes related to student and academic administration or previous relevant experience which demonstrates the capacity to rapidly acquire and apply such knowledge in line with University policy and procedure. High level written, oral and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals including students, co-workers, and senior staff of the University.

Proven ability to work effectively in both a team environment, and independently with a customer service focus, as well as the ability to organize and prioritise workload to meet regular and conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated strong analytical and literacy skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy. Proven ability to identify problems and propose innovative solutions using initiative and sound judgement.

What We Can offer this is a full-time continuing position available at Hew Level 5. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $74,378.89 - $82,842.92 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $87,023.30- $96,926.22 per annum.
