About This opportunity we are seeking a motivated, energetic and organised Student and Academic Administration Officer in the School of Economics to provide high quality customer service through the delivery of friendly, helpful, accurate, and informative advice and services to students, professional and academic staff.

This position is responsibility for completing a diverse range of administrative processing tasks and associated day-to-day problem resolution and maintenance of administrative systems. Responsibilities core Student Administration.

Provide accurate and timely advice to current and prospective postgraduate students, and work collaboratively with staff and other stakeholders within the University's policies and procedures framework, rules and guidelines and legislation relevant to student and academic administration.

Process applications and documentation for postgraduate students in relation to admission, progression, enrolment, credit assessment and exemption, program changes and graduation, and other student administration tasks as directed.

Contribute to the review and implementation of procedures, processes and work practices for postgraduate programs, and assist with implementing agreed change for the continual improvement of procedures in the School.

Assist with reviewing the accuracy of information in University information management systems, databases, websites and publications, including study guides, faculty website, UQ Answers and information sheets.

Provide secretarial support at meetings, committees and working parties as required. Represent the University at Courses and Careers Days, UQ Open Day, postgraduate webinar and events and other engagement and outreach activities as required.

Support and assist the professional staff team as directed by the Manager, Student and Academic Administration and School Manager. Other ensure you are aware of and comply with legislation and University policy relevant to the duties undertaken.

Including but not exclusive to the University's Code of Conduct. Requirements of the Queensland occupational health and safety (OH&S) legislation and related OH&S responsibilities and procedures developed by the University or Institute/School.

The adoption of sustainable practices in all work activities and compliance with associated legislation and related University sustainability responsibilities and procedures. Requirements of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000, the National Code 2007 and associated legislation, and related responsibilities and procedures developed by the University.

About you where applicable, include overarching statement (eg. our ideal candidate/we are looking for/we are seeking/You will have). An undergraduate degree in a relevant area or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.

A sound understanding of administrative processes relevant to student and academic administration, or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

High level of attention to detail and accuracy in written work. Ability to exercise initiative and judgment and to work independently and autonomously. High level written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

The ability to work collaboratively and effectively within the team and across other organisational units. A strong orientation to the provision of a high level of customer service. An empathy with and ability to communicate with students, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Experience in a tertiary education institution or other large organisation in an area related to student administration would be highly regarded. Knowledge of University student computer systems and packages e.g. Microsoft office, SI-net, Business Objects, UniTask, and the use of CRM systems would be desirable.

What we can offer this is a Full time continuing position at Hew 5. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $72,212.51- $80,430.02 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $84, 488.64 - $94,103.12 per annum.
