STG ED Patient Liaison Officer South Eastern Sydney Local Health District location Sydney.
This role is for Thursday and Friday only with possible annual leave relief. Hours are 2.30pm until 8.30pm.

The Patient Liaison Officer (PLO) plays a key role in the generation of inpatient revenue for the hospital. The position liaises closely with patients, relatives, the Emergency Department, the Admissions Office and wards with regards to patient elections and their use of private health insurance.
They are responsible for ensuring all inpatients are assessed and the correct financial classification is assigned. All relevant admission paperwork must be collected and checked, prior to being submitted to billing services centre in a timely manner. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing. All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.
Effective communication skills including the ability to communicate with a broad range of people (i.e. clinicians, patients, relatives). Understanding of private health insurance cover and associated processes.
Understanding of medical terminology. Good organisation and time management skills with the ability to prioritise work. Attention to detail over a broad range of administrative processes. Sound knowledge and work experience with computer based programs, notably Microsoft applications, (such as MS word, excel and outlook). High level of customer service skills.
