Job description Frontline Station Support Officer, it starts with you, Based at Porirua Police Station, Band C, Salary from $57,083, Permanent/Full time, Police Employee, Nationally Advertised Vacancy.

About the role Station Support Officers (SSOs) are the very heart and soul of a Police Station. They are the face of the station and they ensure that the Watchhouse is running smoothly. PST staff rely heavily on this role to assist with day to day functions especially around Prosecution files, found property, exhibit management and general office administration as required.

When you join our team you will be working a roster that will require you to work two weekends out of every six and your roster will be unique to yourself where you will have mainly 9.5 or 10 hour shifts starting at 6.30am or 9am and the latest ending at 7pm. What's good about this roster is that there are rostered days off in between that will enable you to catch up with all those jobs during the week that you just don't get around to doing.

Key accountabilities the ability to deal with challenging individuals in a customer services environment. A sound knowledge of computer applications, in particular Microsoft suites. Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work hard in a team environment. Manage time effectively to complete multiple files and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
