Job description assist executive chef in ensuring a smooth day-to-day operation in the kitchen, ensure that food preparation and items are cooked and plated accurately according to the standard set, plan, direct, control and coordinate the activities of all cooks engaged in preparing food, cooking food and cleaning to ensure an efficient and smooth food service, conduct daily inspections of kitchens, check food mise en place, assist in the preparation and control of daily and weekly market lists, ensure efficient use of resources and minimize wastage, manage and schedule junior staff duty roster, constantly strive to improve kitchen operating procedures, ensure compliance with food safety handling policies procedures, maintain condition and cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work area, perform duties common to all supervisors and other duties as may be assigned by the executive chef.
