Social Worker Caps Hauraki location Waikato.

CAPS Hauraki multidisciplinary team work together to make a difference in the lives of whanau within our local communities. We are seeking to employ a skilled and experienced Whanau Worker who thrives on delivering a range of service options designed to meet the diverse needs of our community. A key part of this role will be to reach out to whanau who have experienced family harm, ensuring they have information and access to the supports they need.

You will work as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team of whanau workers, attendance advisors, social workers, counsellors, programme facilitators, parent educator and leaders who ensure you have the support you need to do this challenging and rewarding work.

Skills you would require to be successful in this role understanding around the dynamics and impact of family violence. Extensive experience of working alongside people who experience family violence, their family and of whanau. The ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders. Excellent listening, communication and relationship/rapport building skills.

The ability to demonstrate initiative, good judgement and flexibility. Excellent time management and organisational skills. The ability to utilise I.T. systems including a web based data base. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A full and clean Drivers Licence. Ideally you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification or have extensive experience working with  whanau who face a range of challenges.
