About the role as part of Insights and Deployment group, your role will ensure the Executive are informed of any risks and trends that can impact New Zealand and Police. To support the delivery of these outcomes the Shift Coordinator National Command and Coordination Centre will provide research, analytical and support capability that sustains the day to day operations of the National Command and Co-ordination Centre, including organisation situational awareness coordination of critical incidents and strategic direction with regard to Prevention First, Turning of the Tide, Safer Journeys and Wellness and Safety. Working a 2-2-2 roster, you will produce quality reporting to the Executive, work closely with DCC's and internal workgroups at PNHQ, and assist in coordinating responses to serious incidents.

Key accountabilities monitor national and international events for matters or trends that will impact New Zealand. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of technological competency. Provide accurate, relevant, objective, useful and timely critical command information to the Executive and other appropriate stakeholders.

Experience to be able to identify, assess and manage risk with the addition of situational awareness of the political environment. Establishes positive working relationships with District Command Centres, Police workgroups and clients, and other external groups.
