The Opportunity
Do you want to be part of the team that is at the forefront of designing, developing, producing and testing the MQ-28 Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA)?
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is currently looking for experienced Senior System Administrators to flex their Windows and Linux stack skills on this cutting-edge project for a12 month temporary placement.
As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will be joining an existing secure networks specialist team that supports the implementation of technical cyber security controls across MQ-28 engineered systems.
Your role will involve partnering with solution architects, engineers and other technical SMEs across the program to design and implement cyber security solutions to minimise vulnerability and maximise resiliency.
As a Senior System Administrator, you'll be working on secure, defence accredited environments, having practical experience designing and implementing cyber controls as dictated by industry standard frameworks such as the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Information Security Manual (ISM).
Essential Criteria
Proven experience implementing security controls in complex, high-assurance systems and managing compliance with relevant security standards such as ISM.
Deep experience implementing and configuring identity and access management (IAM) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions on Windows and Linux environments.
Experience in applying security hardening techniques to both applications and infrastructure.
Proficient in using vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS) to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
Proficient using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible) to automate system administration tasks and security controls.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) in a secure environment.
Systematic and logical problem-solving skills.
A demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
Previous experience in a defence or government environment is highly desirable.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator) are a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Other specific criteria
The ability to undertake occasional ad-hoc tasks outside of core business hours (e.g. system upgrades).
Have an Australian driver's license
This role is based in Brisbane and requires a NV2 security clearance. Some inter-state travel may be required to Boeing sites within Australia including Amberley and Woomera.
