Description

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us on a 24‑month max‑term contract.

In this role, you’ll build scalable software and APIs, automate key processes, and solve complex technical challenges. You’ll work across the full development lifecycle, collaborate with teams, and mentor junior engineers - bringing strong Golang skills and a commitment to Aussie Broadband’s values.

Extensive experience developing production‑grade applications in Golang

Highly regarded experience with:

Containerised solutions

Distributed systems

Event buses, caches, workflow tools

CI/CD

Postgres implementations

OpenAPI / OpenTelemetry

Metrics, logs and tracing visualisation

Kubernetes and Helm

Networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TACACS, RADIUS)

Cisco IOS‑XR

IAM integrations

Build end‑to‑end solutions and APIs for internal tools, customer apps and websites

Automate business processes to improve efficiency

Work closely with stakeholders across all stages of the software development lifecycle

Solve performance and architectural challenges

Write clean, maintainable code that follows best practices

Support special projects as directed by the Network Automation Manager

Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal teams

Participate in relevant meetings, training and information sessions

Mentor junior team members and perform code reviews

Work independently with minimal supervision to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions
