About the Role
Are you passionate about creating a safer and more inclusive community? Swinburne University is looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Safer Community Advisor.

As a Senior Safer Community Advisor, you will play a key leadership role within the Safer Community team. This is a fixed-term 12-month position designed to support the Manager, Safer Community, in focusing on strategic priorities, including the implementation of Swinburne’s Sexual Harm and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Action Plan.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Behavioural risk assessment and management
· Supervision and operational support
· Record keeping and reporting
· Prevention and engagement initiatives
· Stakeholder engagement and representation

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
· Strong interpersonal skills, including managing persons in crisis and those who are highly emotional, aggressive or suicidal
· Demonstrated skills and experience in working with a multidisciplinary team, including managing behavioural risks in a frontline service
· Experience providing peer support, mentoring or informal supervision in a team environment.
· Demonstrated skills in investigation, case analysis, case formulation and case management
· Highly-developed report-writing and presentation skills and proven ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds

Qualifications
· Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience in areas of psychology, social work, legal or related disciplines and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
· Registration and membership to applicable professional bodies, e.g., Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Asia Pacific Association of Threat Assessment Professional (APATAP), Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), etc.
