Ka pūkekotia a Rongomātāne, ka poho kererū a Aotearoa We're looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join our Ravensdown National Technical team, as a Senior Process Engineer. Ravensdown has three manufacturing sites across New Zealand in Napier, Christchurch and Dunedin, where we manufacture, process and despatch fertiliser. Each site has a dedicated Process Manager and the Senior Process Engineer will work closely with these individuals on best practice.
Our sites undertake a variety of chemical processes including the production of sulphuric acid, the manufacture of superphosphate fertiliser, and the operation of a waste heat boiler to raise steam for the generation of electricity. Further support will be required to assist with quarries and other areas within Ravensdown.
About the role you'll be responsible for providing the successful delivery of a wide range of projects across all sites, collaborating with each individual site's management team. The goal is to continually improve the efficiency across the sites, reducing costs and enhance the quality and environmental performance of the production processes.
Day to day you will be providing diagnostic advice and solutions for immediate processing problems, achieving innovation in systems and processes and providing technical and chemical engineering support to the sites team. You will be responsible for one direct report, a Junior Process Engineer. This requires you to be their mentor; providing professional development, ensuring they are engaged, well supported and achieving their goals. As this role is at a National level the location is flexible to be based in either of our three main manufacturing cities.
About you our ideal candidate will have several years experience within industrial or consultancy engineering. You will be flexible, have a thorough approach and a self-driven attitude. You'll need to be able to communicate effectively with people on all levels, have excellent attention to detail and be stimulated by the prospect of a highly varied and autonomous role. You will thrive working in a collaborative environment, as you will have the support of other experienced staff across all work sites.
Ideal skills and experience a chemical, process or mechanical engineering degree or equivalent. Minimum of five years experience working in general engineering/industrial engineering environment. Project management and cost control experience. Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and statistical process control techniques. Strong computer and data presentation skills. Proven ability to meet deadlines. Prior supervisory or management experience is advantageous.
