About the role
This position has responsibility for the day-to-day management of pharmacy services at Blackburn Public Surgical Centre, as well as the specialist pharmacist in Perioperative Medicines across Eastern Health and will oversee, in collaboration with Associate Program Directors, the direction, planning, provision and review of pharmacy services to Eastern Health Operating Theatres. This position will oversee the delivery of the pharmacy services in the surgical outpatient clinics. The role is centred around managing resources efficiently and effectively to provide best practice in pharmaceutical care, with assurance of appropriate, safe and quality use of medicines within the hospital environment. The role incorporates a mixture of direct clinical work and supervision of other pharmacists and pharmacy technicians providing clinical services.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Registered or eligible for registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Current and advanced hospital pharmacy experience in Surgery and Perioperative Medicines
Sound knowledge and understanding of all relevant aspects of hospital pharmacy. In particular, demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) Guidelines
Demonstrate commitment to optimum patient focused care and professional practice
Developed staff supervision, interpersonal skills, ability to facilitate open discussion and resolve conflict.
Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, to meet time constraints and determine work priorities and a high level of organisational skills
Demonstrated leadership, negotiation and decision making skills
Demonstrated ability to manage change and quality improvement activities
Current Victorian driver’s licence
Relevant post graduate qualifications such as Master of Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent (highly desirable)
Credentialed or a portfolio that demonstrates progression towards ANZCAP Consultant credentialing (highly desirable)
