Description

This fantastic and leading organisation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Internal Auditor to join its team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in conducting internal audits, evaluating internal controls, and identifying areas for process improvement. Reporting to the Head of Audit, the Senior Internal Auditor will be responsible for leading and executing comprehensive audit engagements across various departments and functions within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Leads and executes internal audit engagements from planning to reporting, ensuring compliance with established standards and methodologies.
Evaluates the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and governance processes.
Identifies areas of improvement and provides practical recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, mitigate risks, and strengthen internal controls.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and implement action plans in response to audit findings.
Stays abreast of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in internal audit and risk management.
Communicates audit findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or professional certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or related field
Strong understanding of internal audit principles, standards, and methodologies
Professional qualification in relevant field, e.g., Certified Internal Auditor, NZICA, ISACA is desirable.
Proven ability to lead and execute complex audit engagements independently or as part of a team.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
