Senior Finance Business Partner Queensland Urban Utilities location Brisbane.

Urban Utilities has a 12 month contract available for a Senior Finance Business Partner. The Senior FBP is responsible for forming trusted advisor partnerships in order to work alongside the business, supporting and advising their strategic and operational decision making through insights that drive effective and sustainable business performance.

This role will be required to have a broad understanding of all business areas across UU in order to inform key planning assumptions and strategic metrics whilst maintaining a direct partnering role with multiple functional areas – this role will have a focus on and work closely with our Digital and Information Division. You will also actively participate in the formulation of the Decision Support Team future strategy and operational plan.

Ability to lead through influence and develop working relationships with senior stakeholders whist negotiating sustainable financial outcomes for UU. Extensive, demonstrated ability to work across organisational boundaries to create cross-functional teams and facilitate collaboration and cooperation to a common purpose.

Outstanding positive and engaging interpersonal skills with a commanding presence. Change leadership skills, including the ability to create and share a vision, remove obstacles, and integrate financial improvements into the broader cultural contex. Highly Advanced written and verbal communication skills including the confidence to professionally present to relevant audiences and stakeholders with sometimes difficult messages and facilitate strategic discussions linked to financial concepts and metrics.

Mentoring and coaching skills for both direct team members and wider teams. Advanced experience in identifying and understanding of potential financial risks and ability to manage these risks. Advanced skills in MS Office and relevant UU accounting packages. Ability to manage competing priorities whilst maintaining the customer focus and Flexible approach to problem solving with high level influencing and negotiation skills.

Your knowledge and experience in a customer focused strategic partnering role, ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, best practice concepts and methodologies to achieve customer experience improvement and broad understanding of financial concepts and topics will be advantageous. Experience working in ICT environment will be beneficial.

Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business or similar. Professional Accounting Qualifications – CA/ CPA or equivalent.
