We currently have an 8-month fixed term opportunity for a Senior Commercial Analyst to join the Customer Markets Finance team.

The Senior Commercial Analyst is responsible for providing financial and commercial analytics and insights to support management reporting, planning, business cases, strategic and operational projects across the Customer Markets Business Unit. This role will also lead in driving continuous improvement opportunities in process and financial models used by the Customer Markets Commercial Finance team for management reporting, financial analysis, planning and forecasting.

What you’ll be doing Financial Modelling and Business Case Analysis preparing and reviewing financial models following best practice modelling principles. Contributing to the development and maintenance of financial analysis procedures, documentation, data and records. Assisting with compiling and reviewing business cases, including financial evaluation of proposed projects and undertaking post implementation reviews. Assisting in the identification and review of business opportunities by providing independent financial analysis. Assisting with providing financial modelling and analysis in relation to project opportunities.

Process and Financial Model Improvements identifying and driving continuous improvement of the quality and efficiency of all financial forecasting processes and financial models used for forecasting, budgeting and management reporting processes.

Financial Planning, Reporting, Analysis supporting in the delivery of accurate month end and assisting in the preparation of monthly management reporting, including analysis, commentary and insights. Supporting the timely delivery of the annual budget, three-year plan and quarterly forecasts, including critical analysis, commentary, insights and documentation of supporting analysis.

About You What you’ll bring to the tableTertiary qualifications in business, commerce or economics. Experience in financial modelling or analytical roles. Demonstrated experience in providing financial analysis and commercial insights to senior management. Demonstrated commercial acumen to understand the dynamics of a complex industry.

Strong financial modelling capability and the ability to rapidly disseminate large amounts of financial information effectively. Demonstrated experience in influencing stakeholders of varying levels of seniority. Demonstrated high level analytical and research skills, including the ability to analyse complex problems, identify issues, think laterally and apply analytical, qualitative and research techniques to develop appropriate strategies.

Strong attention to detail proven high level written and verbal communication skills, including the development of reports and complex documents.
