Description

Join Vocational Education in the Health, Science and Community team
Full-time fixed-term (2 years) position at our Wantirna campus
SE1 salary + 17% super and staff benefits

About the Role
We're on the lookout for a Senior Educator – Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program to take the lead in supporting our Centre for Foundational Studies and making sure everything we do meets the right educational standards. In this role, you’ll be helping shape policies, offer guidance, and provide insights that help steer our team and support our students. You’ll be part of a passionate, supportive group of educators who care deeply about what they do—and you’ll play a key part in driving new ideas and approaches to meet the needs of our diverse student community.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience leading educational programs and managing teaching teams, especially within the SEE program. You'll need a good handle on how the SEE program works and how the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) ties into assessing LLND (language, literacy, numeracy, and digital) skills. On top of that, you'll be confident putting together and managing business plans, and making sure your area runs smoothly and stays on budget.

This role also involves working closely with lots of different people across the university —think departments, marketing, operations, and compliance—so being a great communicator is a must. You'll need to understand the needs of both students and staff and know how to put plans into action that support them day to day.

If you're someone who can lead a team through change, get people working together, and bring out the best in those around you, we’d love to hear from you. Strong communication skills and a genuine team spirit will go a long way in this role.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

Proven experience leading educational activities and managing a teaching team within the SEE program.
Strong understanding of how the SEE program operates and its goals.
Familiarity with the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF), especially how it applies to assessing language, literacy, numeracy, and digital (LLND) skills.
Ability to create and deliver education-focused business plans, and manage resources and budgets effectively.
Experience working and communicating with different areas of the university, such as departments, marketing, operations, and compliance teams.
Experience working and communicating with different external stakeholders, such as, employment service providers, quality assurance providers and government departments.
Skilled in putting teaching-related business and operational plans into action and keeping them running smoothly.
A good understanding of the needs of everyone involved in the SEE program—students, staff, and teaching areas.
Confident in leading teams through change while promoting high-quality service and outcomes.
Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to lead and work well as part of a team.

Qualifications
Australian Qualifications Framework level 5 qualification.
Qualification within an education or teaching context
Qualification or experience equivalent to an Australian post-graduate award in adult education (preferable)
