The IS/IT team delivers a shared IT service to all Thales Australia business units located across Australia. We are currently on a transformational journey, and we are looking for an engaging candidate who will be an active participant in that journey which includes aligning multiple ERP’s into an Oracle EBS
deployment, driving process and business intelligence maturity.

The Applications and Database team are responsible for supporting and enhancing the systems and processes for all IT supported applications. We are a diverse team with specialists in Business Analysis, Integration as well as application support and Database Administration.

Your Role
As part of the Applications and Database team the Senior Database Administrator is responsible for the following:

Perform Oracle and SQL Server DBA tasks including monitoring, backups, tuning, patching.
Experience with database automation/scripting using tools such as Linux Shell, DOS Batch, PowerShell, Ansible, and Python to streamline and modernize database operations.
Oracle E-Business Suite Administration: Manage and administer Oracle E-Business Suite (R12 or later), including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and cloning.
Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager, Linux system administration and Data Guard
Strong focus on detail and continuous improvement, with a drive to enhance the quality, reliability, and efficiency of enterprise database services and operations.
Demonstrated technical leadership with a strong ability to mentor team members, implement best practices, and lead initiatives to enhance the performance, security, and availability of database systems.
Implement security and compliance controls in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Your Experience
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

Undergraduate Degree or relevant industry qualifications
Administer, monitor, and optimise on-prem Oracle and SQL Server databases both on-prem and cloud
Hands on experience managing Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2
Implement and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing database solutions.
Develop automation scripts for routine maintenance tasks (Shell, Batch, PowerShell, Python
Maintain backup and DR capabilities and ensure regular testing using RMAN, Data Guard etc
Follow best practices for security compliance and database auditability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and digital initiatives.
Oracle Enterprise Manager
