Full time, fixed term until 31 December 2023. Located on the Camperdown Campus at the Office of Student Life. Opportunity to contribute to the student life experience. Base Salary $91K - $98K (HEO6) + 17% superannuation.
About the opportunity we are currently seeking a Senior Administration Officer to provide a broad range of administrative and operational support to the Office of Student Life.
Your key responsibilities will be to manage general administrative services and operational support by the work area. Prepare documents, respond to complex queries, explore matters, and source solutions for the work area. Provide guidance and support to more junior administrative staff. Help analyse matters and provide advice on policy and procedures for the delivery of work outcomes. Coordinate diaries, meetings and events and provide conference support for the work area. Undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.

As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a Senior Administration Officer who has administrative experience in a tertiary organisation, working knowledge of academic institutions, structures and the higher education sector, a working knowledge Microsoft Office Suite and software programs such as Student Administrative Systems.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work. Excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve required outcomes.
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
