Description

Senior Accounts Clerk-Bookkeeper Group Colleges Australia location Sydney, CBD, Inner West & Eastern Suburbs. Salary $75,000 - $79,999. You will be responsible for the daily reporting of Cash Flow and Position provide back up support for Payroll and Personnel matters, Month end and ad hoc financial analysis of results, and partnering the preparation of Budgets and Rolling Forecasts using Excel-based models on a day to day basis there will be financial operating activities, such as Accounts Payable, as well as actively supporting the Finance Team across the GCA Group of Companies. Main responsibilities cash management, daily reporting of cash flow and position to executive, funds transfers from student related bank accounts to investment and/or call accounts, cash forecasting, general accounting accounts payable support particularly premises leases and rents coding & processing of invoices and data  entry into sage 300 for the gca group, ensure payments are made in a timely manner & remittance advices are sent out regularly to suppliers, assistance in preparing and processing student refunds, other ad-hoc duties as required, payroll/personnel duties, payroll support with sage micropay and back up for assistant accountant especially for holiday relief, assist with preparing lecturer and/or trainer contracts at the beginning of each trimester, month end reporting and processing. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and CFO to assist with the month end processing which will include but not limited to analysis of variances to budget, review and examination of income recognition reports (irr) to establish that any student data/record anomalies are corrected and, if appropriate, program changes implemented, assist in the preparation of monthly reporting narrative, assist in the preparation of the financial quarterly gca board re. Budgets, plans and new projects excel. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and CFO using established Excel-based models for the following budgets and 2 year plans for each college and support centres, monthly rolling forecasts comparing with budgets, establish new models and/or spreadsheets for new projects and diversification plans, year end, assist the financial controller with the year end audit and completion of the annual tax return, sage 300 accounting erp package. Working closely with the financial controller and cfo to set up executive dashboards monitoring and reporting on key business metrics. Essential requirements and skills at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, proficient in microsoft products – excel and word – minimum at intermediate level, solid understanding and experience in basic bookkeeping and accounting principles, good organisation skills and demonstrated ability to achieve organisational change objectives, ability and willingness to embrace technology, legal right to work in australia.
