Come work with a wonderful team at our wine centre on Waiheke Island. There is a lot of opportunity to work tasting events within the store, and for those interested the chance to work at our winery cellar doors as well.

Duties include but are not limited to serving customers in a polite, professional and knowledgeable manner. A friendly attitude is key.. Ensuring all liquor licence regulations are strictly adhered to – this includes a focus/emphasis on not serving underage or intoxicated customers. Ever. Always ask for identification. Key handling; you may be required to open and/or close. You will be provided with an alarm code and key. Daily cash reconciliations.

You will be required to help customers use our Enomatic wine tasting machines in store. Full training will be provided if you have not previously used them. Cleaning is also required monthly which you may need to assist a duty manager with.

A general understanding of wine, wine regions and the ability to speak passionately about the world of beverages with both customers and staff is a must. You will often be asked to recommend a wine, beer or spirit based on customers' various criteria.

Upselling and promoting sales receiving goods, confirming prices and putting them away to their allocated places within the shop. Checking online, telephone and email orders. Packaging up goods for delivery on the island or for dispatch, making sure goods will not be damaged in transport.

Knowledge of NZ post parcel tracking and understanding of their website is required and will be taught. Daily shop delivery cut-off time is at 1pm Monday - Saturday. We work as a team to fulfil deliveries which means you may be asked to drive deliveries to allocated addresses. A full clean NZ drivers’ license is required.

Restocking and maintaining the general organization and cleanliness of the shop. This includes, but is not limited to; stocking up products, dusting off shelves, vacuum cleaning and mopping the floor. Although a roster is provided, you may be asked to cover shifts as necessary.

A good standard of fitness is required as moving stock can sometimes require heavy lifting. This includes the safe transfer from basement level to shop level and delivery to all addresses, of which some have challenging access. Personal presentation is expected to be tidy, clean and professional.
