About the opportunity
As our Retail Postage Sorter, you’ll play an important part in keeping millions of Australians connected. As you’d expect, plenty of parcels and mail comes through our Post Offices and delivery facilities every day, our mail sorting teams make sure every delivery gets where it needs to.
Role Details
These multiple *relief casual roles commence on $34.45 / hour for approx. 3 months, increasing to $36.83 hour + 12% Superannuation. (Junior rates apply to those under 21 during training).
District allowance from $3,160
You will need to be fully available, Monday - Saturday, between 6 am – 5.30 pm, (the majority of shifts will be early morning)
Extensive, supportive (paid) training on commencement, Monday - Friday, for up to 8 weeks, approx. 3 hours / day on a rotating roster
Becomes “on call” after training, shifts may be scheduled in advanced, or you may be called in at short notice, there is no guarantee of hours or minimum hours / week
As a relief role, you will need to be willing and able to travel to *Darwin GPO, Casuarina, Winnellie and Palmerston, please consider the travel when applying
You’ll be
Manually sorting all mail arriving at the workplace.
Sorting and distributing mail into relevant PO Boxes.
Assisting and/or performing administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance.

Call upon your memory and hand-eye coordination while sorting.
Be fit to lift up to 16kgs of mail regularly and stand for your shift.
