Research Assistant The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute location Melbourne. The Institute is one of Australia’s leading biomedical research organisations, with a strong national and international reputation for performing highly influential basic and translational research. With more than 1,100 staff and students, the Institute is addressing some of the major health challenges of our time, with a focus on cancer, infection, inflammation, immune disorders, development and ageing. About the position the research assistant will provide research support within the visvader/lindeman laboratory of the acrf Cancer Biology and Stem Cells Division. The purpose of this position is to provide technical support in the study of mammary epithelial cell biology and breast cancer. This role will include refined sorting and culture of normal breast and cancer cells, and a variety of assays such as immunostaining and confocal imaging aimed at understanding breast epithelial cells. Selection criteria bsc (hons) or equivalent degree, proficiency in cellular and molecular biology, animal handling skills (desirable), terms of appointment, this position is available for 2 years in a full-time capacity with potential for renewal. Competitive salary, up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
