Buller Sports, the premier rental and retail operator in the Mt Buller and Mansfield region, is gearing up for an exciting 2026 winter season. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Rental and Retail Store Manager to lead one of our store teams and help deliver an exceptional mountain experience for our guests.

Position Available

We have a Rental and Retail Store Manager position available at:

Mansfield
On-mountain roles include shared staff accommodation. Off-mountain employees receive competitive pay and access to staff transport options such as the staff bus and car passes. Some valley staff may also have the opportunity to stay on-mountain during rostered days off.

Your Responsibilities

As a Rental and Retail Store Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of your store and ensure every guest receives outstanding service. Your responsibilities include:

Providing a superior customer experience for all guests
Leading, motivating, and supporting your team
Assisting guests with the safe and correct setup of rental equipment
Educating guests on the care and use of equipment
Selling and promoting a wide range of mountain products
Supporting visual merchandising, promotions, and store presentation
Identifying and responding to guest needs in a professional manner
Ensuring compliance with company, OHS, and environmental policies
Monitoring stock levels and equipment condition
Representing Buller Sports and the Mt Buller experience in a positive and professional manner
Management Responsibilities

Lead and support front-line staff and supervisors
Ensure all staff complete required training and follow SOPs
Set and maintain a positive and professional workplace culture
Ensure grooming and presentation standards are upheld
Train staff in safe and correct equipment use
Develop staff skills throughout the season
Provide coaching and feedback
Address performance or conduct issues when required
Review and monitor staff performance
Develop future leaders within the team
Work with the Rental and Retail Manager to review store financial performance

Proven experience in rental, retail, hospitality, or guest service
Patience, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset
Excellent work ethic and reliability
Experience using POS systems
The ability to multitask and work under pressure
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
High standards of presentation
Availability to work day, evening, weekend, and peak-season shifts
Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 4 years of experience in rentals or retail
Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisor or management position
Relevant equipment certifications, if required
