Receptionist or Administration Officer Nova Trust location Canterbury.
Nova Trust is seeking to appoint a Part Time Receptionist/Administration Officer for its Addiction Services (25 hours per week Mon to Fri). This position will be the primary point of contact for all contact and enquiries coming into Nova Trust, in addition to supporting the Referrals and Admissions team and our Tangata Whaiora (clients) with benefit applications.
The post holder will ensure the efficient operation of the reception area and to assist with any other duties as necessary. Nova Tust is a leading New Zealand NGO and Social Enterprise making life better for those affected by alcohol, drugs and other life challenges.
Our skilled and compassionate people work closely with service users, their whānau, families and communities, to change lives. Nova Trust currently manages three distinct services: Nova STAR, Nova Recovery, and Nova Fresh (our Social Enterprise). The Trust is based in Canterbury and operates services, from its main site, in a rural setting on the outskirts of Christchurch.
Nova Trust is home to Nova STAR the approved provider under the Substance Addiction (Compulsory Assessment & Treatment) Act. The service offers those subject to compulsory treatment orders a residential service focusing on support to improve cognitive capacity to make informed decision regarding treatment.
Nova STAR is part of wider models of care operating nationally, offering a residential placement following medical detox and stabilization of health. The service offers an intensive programme incorporating cognitive remediation, Occupational Therapy, medical and Psychologist input and regular social interaction with the wider Nova Recovery residents.
Nova Recovery is our recovery-oriented residential programme providing treatment, rehabilitation and supported accommodation for those affected by addictions. The programme offers residents the ability to gain vital skills from the Employment-Life Programme to support ongoing recovery, integration back into society and improve their attractiveness to the labour market following discharge.
You will have experience in an Administration, Coordination or related role is essential. Previous experience working in a residential and/or addictions treatment setting is desirable. Knowledge of Work & Income/MSD processes and supports would be advantageous but not essential.
Ability to work with service users who have cognitive impairment and other co-existing problems. Ability to demonstrate advanced written and verbal communication skills. Excellent people skills, with the ability to build productive relationships.
Ability to work with diversity and willingness to work from a bi-cultural perspective. Ability to effectively manage your time and tasks and to work individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Personal resilience and be willing to ‘go the extra distance’. Evidence of COVID vaccination as an ‘essential worker’.
