Receptionist The Salvation Army NZ location Northland.

Come and work with the team at The Kaitaia Bridge, in a role with The Salvation Army Addiction Services in which the right person can make a real difference for people in our community. The successful applicant will be an integral part of the team as we serve our community.

The successful applicant will use their excellent customer service skills to provide a warm welcome to visitors to our site, and to support them to engage with our team who work to provide help to those who need it.

Use your outstanding administration skills to provide operational, and practical assistance to the team. This is 24 hour per week, permanent role. About the department/operation/programme. The Salvation Army Addiction Services delivers interventions for people experiencing problematic use of alcohol and/or other drugs.

About the role to provide a first impression for our site that reflects who we are and what we aim to achieve. The role includes working with members of the public seeking help, ensuring visitors to the site are welcomed and can access what they need. The role also includes administration functions for the Kaitaia Bridge.

Key tasks include welcoming, including answering phone calls. Administration; including entering client details into the client database. General duties including hospitality. Person specifications the person we are looking for has an understanding of, respect for, and the ability to work within The Salvation Army's mission and values.

Is highly innovative, responsive, supportive, flexible, and adaptable. Has a can-do attitude. Is friendly, has a professional manner in relation to all forms of stakeholder interaction. Has a strong client focus (internal and external clients). Has the ability to respond appropriately to people presenting to reception with sensitivity, caring and patience.

Has the ability to relate to people from a diverse range of backgrounds, including clients and professionals. Has cultural awareness. Is fluent in te reo (an advantage). Has excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to convey information clearly.

Is able to be self-managed and self-motivated. Is a competent user of ms systems eg: excel, word, and powerpoint. Experience with email systems, online calendar, and client database preferred. Is energetic and enthusiastic.

Has proven competence in record-keeping, with good organisation and administrative skills. Has a commitment to quality improvement processes. Demonstrates tact and discretion. Is able to maintain confidentiality. Has a sense of humour.

Is a team player who will contribute positively to the morale and kaupapa of a team. Has time and desk management skills to prioritize multiple tasks, keep track of work in progress, and meet deadlines. Has a commitment to continuing professional development. Has current full nz driver's licence.
