About us western Private Hospital (WPH), is a boutique private hospital servicing the West of Melbourne with the provision of acute services, which has 62 inpatient beds. WPH’s facilities include four Operating Theatres, CSSD, Day Stay Unit, Day Oncology Unit, Eleanor Overnight Ward for CCU, HDU & Surgical patients, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Specialist Consulting Suites, Nuclear Medicine Department and supported by pathology, pharmacy, radiology and radiation therapy services. About the rolethe role is responsible for providing reception and administrative support to the Nuclear Medicine team to effectively meet patient care and billing requirements. The administration functions include but are not limited to providing exceptional customer service when greeting patients to ensure patients feel comfortable and are clear on the process of their visit; handling referrals and scheduling bookings; ensuring all patient information is up-to-date and accurately recorded; data entry into RIS/PACS information systems; billing patient accounts and submitting online claims to Medicare; report distribution and liaising with other imaging/pathology providers to source outside reports.

In this dynamic role you will also be required to fulfil other appropriate administrative or secretarial type duties to support clinical staff within the Department, particularly the PET Centre Manager and other Nuclear Medicine Technologists. The days and hours required are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm.  We are flexible and open to candidates seeking either full-time or part-time employment working 2-3 days a week as part of a job sharing arrangement.

About you using your well-developed communication and interpersonal skills you will work with a friendly and dedicated team to provide a professional support service.  It is essential for you to handle the fast pace and multiple demands of this position with a positive attitude and strong work ethic to effectively provide administrative services for patients, doctors and health professionals.

Selection criteria previous hospital administration experience, and particularly with radiology bookings highly regarded. Sound knowledge of medical terminology. Medical software experience, including proficiency with patient management systems such as WebPAS and Genie, as well as a Radiology Information System (RIS) such as Karisma, Promedicus, CRIS or other similar systems is highly desirable.

Exceptional customer service and passion for delivering quality patient-centred care. Demonstrated high attention to detail and able to follow work procedures and processes. Willingness and ability to learn and complete new tasks and the flexibility to embrace changes. Personable and patient friendly with an empathic and attentive personality. Excellent time management skills & the ability to prioritise workload under pressure.

High level professional, efficient and effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced, stimulating and dynamic team environment. Strong computer literacy skills using MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
