We are excited to announce there are multiple opportunities available to join the team as a Trainee Network Control Officer within our Rail Management Centre (located in Bowen Hills, Brisbane). What's on offer a Starting base salary of $79,000 per annum plus 12.75% super while in the Certificate IV in Rail Network Control Training Program. Gain a qualification with us by completing a Certificate IV in Rail Network Control. The potential to earn approximately $160,000 plus superannuation once qualified and working the current 24/7 shifts roster). Ongoing support to develop your career including leadership, training and project opportunities.

Your opportunity working in the control room of our Rail Management Centre in Bowen Hills, you will learn to control and coordinate the rail network within the Southeast Queensland region. You will play a key role in connecting communities and providing a world class rail services for our customers. This opportunity provides a specific training pathway to become a qualified Network Control Officer with Queensland Rail.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity which requires our successful applicants to learn and grow through a structured training program. The program includes a start date of Monday the 30th of September 2024. An intensive 18 week training program, combining classroom and simulated-learning followed by on-the-job training.

Restrictions on the utilisation of planned leave during the intensive training periods e.g. no annual leave can be taken, including leave over traditional holiday periods (excluding gazetted public holidays). The opportunity to obtain a permanent role after successfully completing the 12-month probation period and all training and assessments. Once qualified, the availability to commit to working within a roster comprising of 8-hour shifts on a 24/7 basis, is imperative.

Ability to remain vigilant and attentive for prolonged periods of time. A good memory for recalling and applying rules and procedures to dynamic situations. The ability to quickly adapt to new technology devices and changing systems.
