Quarry Operations Trainee - Labourer/Machine Operator Meteor Stone location Perth, Northern Suburbs & Joondalup. If you’re looking for a career change, enjoy working outdoors, want to learn new skills using mobile and stationary plant in the quarrying and manufacturing industry, then we have an immediate vacancy for an enthusiastic and capable person to commence training in Quarry Operations. This is a ‘Career Path’ opportunity with a view to achieving formal qualifications to become a Quarry Manager. A minimum of an ‘average’ level of computer literacy, verbal and written communication skills is required. Participation in "On the Job" and "On- line" training will be required. The company Meteor Stone Pty Ltd is a leading quarry and processor of Western Australian Natural Stone products. We are recognised as one the leading suppliers of quarried limestone/ hard rock, reconstituted construction blocks and decorative cladding /paving products in Western Australia. Meteor Stone has been serving the Western Australian community for over 30years. Our product has laid foundations to major projects such as the Ritz Carlton in Elizabeth Key, The Pinctada Resort in Broome and Federation Square in Melbourne. The position successful applicant will be trained in all aspects of limestone quarrying, the production of quarried reconstituted construction blocks and dimension stone, and the safe operation of machinery, including forklift, bob cat, front wheel loader, electric quarry saw, electric in line diamond saw, concrete batch plant, finlay block layer. Training will progress to gaining competence in OS & H and regulatory and legislative requirements. Remuneration is based on the Quarrying Award 2010 [MA000037] and will commence at the Grade in accordance with current competencies held. The location located in nowergup western australia, the quarry site is 19kms north of the wanneroo township. Please note that the work is outdoors and in a dusty environment. Hours Monday to Friday 7.00am - 4.00pm with overtime during busy periods. A current drivers licence and own transport is essential.
