Description
Psychology Clinic Receptionist Psyc Spot Psychology Clinic location Sydney. $30 – $35 per hour.
Job description our psychology clinic is in need of a part-time medical receptionist who is experienced and/or a fast learner (i.e., prior work experience as a receptionist, especially in psychology practices, is desirable but not essential).
More so than work experience, we value honesty, dedication, kindness, patience, and other personal attributes that would make someone fit this role. The tasks involved are quite standard for this position, such as answering client’s enquiries, helping them with bookings, managing the waiting list, maintaining the practice’s supplies and tidiness, and so forth.
Employment terms we hope to have someone starting 2 full days per week as soon as possible (but 1.5 days per week is also possible). This will most likely be Tuesday and Friday (to be confirmed). While this role is initially offered as a fixed term contract, ongoing employment is a very likely possibility, but the days and hours will likely change (e.g., dependent on what days and ours hour our permanently employed part-time receptionist can do when she returns later this year; also dependent on how much reception cover we need after expanding our Rosebery clinic which is in the process of being fitted out).
In the long-run, we would ideally have 5-6 hour reception cover each day for both small practices in Rosebery and Mascot (e.g., 9-3am in one location and 12-5pm at the other location). We imagine these hours would suit parents and/or university students.
Work environment our Mascot practice is conveniently located just ~3 minutes’ walk away from Mascot Train Station (which is itself only 2 station away from Central). The practice is beautifully designed and newly fitted out. There is an abundance of natural sunlight in the reception area as well as the staff room / kitchenette. There is also plenty of nice restaurants and two supermarkets nearby.
Our team is warm, respectful, and friendly. Existing staff will tell you we are always fair, and try to be as generous, flexible, and considerate as we possibly can. In line with this, our staff turnover rate is extremely low, and we only had people leave because they had to move country or change industry (e.g., student receptionist graduating).
Essential criteria excellent organisation skills, honest and trustworthy, responsible and accountable, patient and respectful (since you will be the face of our company), and having good written and verbal communication skills are all essential. Job seekers with physical and/or mental health difficulties or disabilities are encouraged to apply so long as the personal health issues do not make one unable to fulfil the duties and demands of this role. Australian residency or visa to stay and work in the country for >12 months is required.
