Description

Post Office Assistant Unlock Success Pty Ltd location Bendigo.

Our close-knit team has a vacancy currently for an outstanding Post Office Assistant to join our small team in Clunes Post Office. This is a 2.5 day per week position that provides a huge variety of tasks along with a wonderful rural community of locals who you will get to know well.

Clunes is a small rural town in regional Victoria, 36km from Ballarat in the Shire of Hepburn. A town of approximately 1800 people with a vibrant community scene. Clunes is a ‘go ahead’ town as illustrated by the famous International Booktown event held annually, where the whole town transforms into a European-style booktown. This event has been held annually on the first weekend in May since 2007, with 2020 marking the first time it has had to be cancelled due to COVID-19.

Clunes Booktown Festival is the largest collection of books in any regional centre of Australia and the major Victorian regional book event. The event sees upwards of 15,000 visitors for the weekend, and as such it is certainly a highlight in the town. Couple this with various other events held throughout the year, Clunes is truly a vibrant center for the local community.

Clunes also hosts students from Wesley College Campus who learn to live independently for 8-weeks each term in the town. Add this to the lively film scene, where Clunes is involved in lots of local film productions, it has a lot happening for a small town. Clunes Post Office has been operating for over 150 years and the tradition of excellent customer service to the local community continues. The Post Office currently resides in the main street with the local Pharmacy co-habitating the building.

This role is one of two key people in the post office, with a lot of autonomy being offered. This role will largely work on their own, but with help from the pharmacy team as needed. Full training will be provided, including a comprehensive training process through Australia Post.

We are looking for a candidate who can display the following attributes excellent Time Management Skills. Excellent Computer Skills. Excellent Customer Service Skills. Ability to plan and organise tasks well.

Ability to reprioritise. Able to handle multiple tasks at the same time. Able to work under pressure. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
