Description

Plastic Surgery Secretary Horizon Plastic Surgery location Melbourne.

We are inviting applications to join a busy and rapidly growing northern suburbs plastic surgery practice on a casual basis initially, commencing immediately. We perform a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries on a wide variety of patients. We are a happy and friendly team who highly value our excellent staff. You will flourish in a supportive and caring environment.

We are a very flexible employer and are able to accommodate our staff's hobbies and other interests and studies very well. We work Monday to Friday, generally 9.00am-5.00pm, however some 7.00am starts and up to 6.30pm finishes may be required. Remuneration will be commensurate with your previous experience.

You will be jointly responsible alongside our other secretaries for the day to day running of the practice. This includes greeting patients and ensuring they are comfortable, making appointments, taking payments and organising referrals, tests and operations. You will liaise with patients, other doctors and hospitals and our practice nurses on a daily basis utilising your excellent communication skills.

The practice runs a paperless office using Genie software on Mac computers. You may be required to do some travelling to peripheral consulting locations on set days of the week. A drivers licence and your own transport will be necessary. Some experience in a similar role is essential, as this is a busy job and you will expected to do basic tasks such as handling the phones and greeting patients from day one. Training regarding other tasks will be provided on the job, but the more you're able to stand on your own two feet the better.

Your application will be judged on work experience in a medical receptionist / secretary role. Work experience in a cosmetic or plastic surgery or other surgery specialist practice. Actual level of performance in a previous job using similar or the same systems. Written and spoken English and attention to detail with respect to these. Presentation and interpersonal skills as the public face of our practice.

Comfort with computer use. Evidence of a strong work ethic and stable employment history. Employment of appropriate discretion and tact when communicating in clinical situations. Ability to work as team member, leader or follower and understanding when each is required. Most importantly, your intelligence and common sense, and your ability to apply these in your work with us. If you possess both of these attributes, everything else we will be able to teach you.
