About the role New Zealand Police have an advanced health, fitness, and wellbeing program for our staff, and are seeking a dynamic health and fitness professional to join our team. As a Physical Education Officer you will work as part of the PEO team in leading the physical fitness, health promotion and wellness initiatives for New Zealand Police within your District. The role requires out of office exercise and fitness assessments, and office-based activities to plan and lead the activities to keep our people fit for work and fit for life. You manage stakeholder relations and involve an element of planning and coordination. In this role, you will be enabling our people by enhancing their hauora. You will demonstrate a high level of professionalism, empathy, and resilience to help support people to achieve their goals.

Key accountabilities deliver through fitness testing for employment processes. Develop and deliver work related strength and conditioning programs for our high performing people. Identify risks, trends and opportunities through health and lifestyle interventions. Collaborate and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Deliver Te Whare Tapa Whā to our people. Demonstrate Whakamana - enhancing the Mana and waiora (well-being) of others, so that we can all be safe and feel safe.

A tertiary qualification in exercise science, human movement, sport science, fitness & health, physical education, or related fields exercise & sport fields. Professional experience in fitness and sports is desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Current First Aid Certificate. Full New Zealand driver's license.
