Job Description
The Opportunity
City Health, as part of City Fertility, is seeking skilled nurses with anaesthetic & recovery experience to join our peri-operative team at our Southside Procedure Centre, located in Sunnybank.
As a Perioperative Nurse, primarily working in Anaesthetics/Recovery at our licenced Procedure Centre at Sunnybank, you will work as part of a competent team assisting with:
Pre-Operative Assessment/Admission
Anaesthesia Administration
Intraoperative Monitoring
Airway Management
Post-Operative Care
Patient Education & Support
About You:
We are looking for a highly motivated, compassionate, and patient-focused Registered Nurse who will work collaboratively with the Peri-operative Nursing team, Laboratory Team, and IVF Nursing Team. You will be willing to provide support to our Newstead Procedure Centre if required and ideally have an interest in cross-training with our IVF Nurses.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor of Nursing Degree or higher (for Registered Nurse)
Post graduate certificate in perioperative nursing
Current AHPRA Registration
At least 2 years of clinical peri-operative nursing experience, with a minimum of 1 year in anaesthetics.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Advanced Life Support (ALS) preferred).
Knowledge and Competencies:
In-depth understanding of day surgery (theatre) nursing.
Computer literate.
Adherence to Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) National Competency Standards for Registered Nurses.
Familiarity with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) Standards.
Strong skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and communication.
