Patient Transport Officer Ambulance Victoria location Melbourne. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Patient Transport Officer's key objective is to provide effective and efficient transportation of critically unwell patients between health services across the state of Victoria.  This will include driving the ambulance, managing the equipment and providing logistical support when transferring patients with complex issues. This is a permanent part time role, based out of Brady Street South Melbourne and operates on a rotating roster working 64 hours per fortnight across various days, with an average of 32 hours worked per week. About you to be successful in this position, applicants will have successfully completed certificate iii in non-Emergency Client Transport or equivalent. This includes one of the following alternative Ambulance qualifications - Qualified Ambulance Paramedic, Diploma of Ambulance Paramedic Studies, Bachelor of Health Science - Paramedic Degree and current AHPRA registration. In addition, you will have sound clinical problem solving skills, well developed verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding when interacting with patients and families, including internal and external clients.  Your ability to provide leadership and guidance as a primary patient carer, work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines will be crucial in this role. The successful applicant will be required to pass a medical and physical fitness assessment as determined by Ambulance Victoria. Upon commencement with Ambulance Victoria, all successful applicants must be available to attend a two week induction program in Melbourne.  The induction will be based around office hours, Monday to Friday for the duration of the program.
